Our Family Pics

So, Sunday after church, we headed back up Middle Canyon to do family pictures in the fall leaves. If you read my former post, this is after I discovered the red crayon on Gavin's pants. I made him wear the one with the least amount of red showing, and decided not to focus in too much on his pants. Anyway, we didn't take anyone with us to take the family pic, so as you can imagine, that was hilliarious. I would hit the timer and start running. We had to balance the camera on a stack of rocks. I'm so glad we didn't take the dog. Also, many of you can sympathize with me, when I mention the just kids pic. We have all been there trying to get everyone looking the same way, smiling, not blinking and trying to get the baby to remotely look in the direction of the camera. If ya get a smile, extra bonus. Phil and I were laughing and being complete idiots trying to get Kyson to look in our direction. The whole thing was quite comical. Including allowing Gavin to take a nice picture of just Phil and me. (No, I didn't post a pic) He would just start snapping away before Phil and I were even ready. Thank goodness for digital cameras that you can erase!!!!!!!!!!

The Red Crayon

So, I know what most of you are thinking. Yes, these are Phil's scrubs, and No, that is not blood, although it looks just like it. I was washing darks, including all of Gavin's jeans without holes and the washing part went great. Then came the dryer. Unbeknown to me, the famous red crayon that has marked my walls and furniture by my lovely daughter, was in her jeans pocket. Sunday, I pulled the pants out of the dryer to find everything covered in red crayon!! So this morning, I started to see what I could do to get the crayon out, hoping it was a "washable" crayon. Well, an hour and a half later, plus an entire bottle of Spray 'N Wash, the clothes are red crayon free. I think I will check pockets better when I wash clothes.

Our Date

Phillip and I got the opportunity to go to Library Square in Salt Lake and see the Body Worlds 3 Exhibit on Saturday. IT WAS FASCINATING!!!!! They won't let you take pics inside, so I had to borrow one from the web. It may look all gory and so forth, but it is not. These are real bodies donated to science that have been encased in plastic. They look totally fake, but WOW. Besides having bodies shown, they also have individual body parts. They show different diseases, and medical problems. They also have a whole section on fetus'. You can look in tubes and see the babies starting at 51/2 weeks clear up to 32 weeks. It was great and one of the best dates we have been on. Plus, we went with no children!!!! They told us it would take about 90 minutes to do the tour, but not Phil and I. We were there 3 hours!!!! This exhibit is going to be in SLC until Jan, and I highly recommend that if any of you get the chance to see this exhibit, spend the money and go. You won't regret it!!! FYI, it is all anatomically correct, so forewarning you will see the sexual organs on the people still intact.

MIddle Canyon

Last night, Phillip actually had a day off and we decided to go to the canyon to roast hot dogs and do smores. We took the

4-wheeler and the dog and headed up the canyon. We had just started up when we say this entire herd of turkeys! The kids thought it was really cool. Then we took a pic of the leaves changing. Our canyon is beautiful in the fall. I told Phil that we are coming to do family pics soon, so we can have the colorful leaves. The kids had a ball riding the 4-wheeler and we had 2 deer come right into our camp! We wouldn't have seen them if Maggie hadn't barked. Someone put a swing up in the campsite and once we got past the fighting for it, the kids had fun pushing each other. Kyson wasn't that fond of being bundled up, but he was still smiling, so it couldn't have been that bad. It was great to have a little mini-get-away, even if it was only for 3 hours!

Tiny Dancer

So, Jaycee started dance with Pam Giles and Chantel McInnes at Dance Attitude. She takes jazz and ballet. She LOVES Wednesdays because it is dance day. She gets up and puts her dance outfit on and wears it all day. I inherited some ballet slippers from my sister and Jaycee refused to take them off, that now I have to get new slippers because she has already worn them out and we have only done 3 dance classes! She is very excited to learn her first dance because the music is "The Backyardigans." Trouble is, she is too busy singing the song to dance. We'll have to work on that. She couldn't wait to so me 1st position. She told me, "Mom, our heels kiss, but our toes don't like each other." I hope she contiunes to have love it.

Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed

Tuesday night Kyson slept from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. YEAH!!!!! Then, last night he slept that long again!!!!! I'm hoping this is a trend, because it is sooooooo nice to sleep for 8 hours straight!!! But that first night, like all mothers, I kept getting up and checking on him. I have a humidifier in his room and it's kinda loud and I kept thinking, "Oh my gosh, what if he isn't breathing?!" I'm sure most of you know how that is.

Also, my little baby is also, not so little anymore. Here are some pics of him at 2 weeks, with his little birdie legs, and here is him at 2 months, with lots and lots of rolls! He is also getting to the stage that he coos back to you when you talk to him. It's funny, he wasn't my smiley baby when he was first born, and now he is soooo smiley! You say his name and the smile appears. I think he is really cute, but then again I am his mom.

Cheap Entertainment

I don't know how many of you have ceiling fans, but every room in our house, minus the bathrooms, has a ceiling fan. Well, Kyson LOVES them! He will sit and watch them spin for hours. Well, not really hours, but long enough for me to get some things done.
