I love my Gyno!

Ok, I know what you are thinking, is that woman crazy? But my gyno is hilarious! I had to go on Friday because they didn't get enough cells the first pap smear after Kyson, so better be safe than sorry. Anyway, I took Kyson with me and right before the doc came in, he started crying and fussing, he was hungry. I knew I wouldn't be long, so I just picked him up and rested him on my stomach. Well, the doc comes in and proceeds with the exam. Kyson was facing the direction of the doc and while he is doing the pap Kyson is just laughing and smiling at him. So what does the gyno do? In his little kid voice says to Kyson, "You're gonna be a gynocologist, aren't you? Aren't you?" I was laughing so hard and then he says, "See mom, he just wants to be down here where all the action is?" I could not stop laughing and the pap was done and over with it before I even knew it. I love my gyno, he makes me laugh and I think that is why I like going to the gyno.

Smarty!

Ok, so Gavin came home yesterday and wanted to talk about voting. I guess they have been talking about it in school and he had some questions for me. He asked me who I was going to vote for and why. As I proceeded to tell him what each side was campaigning for, it only brought about new questions. Like, what is abortion?, What does it mean to be gay and have gay marriages? What is the economy?, What are taxes? and do we pay a lot of taxes now? I leaned a lot toward the Republician views, not that I think McCain is the best, but I just agree with more of those views. Gavin figured it out and this morning Gavin told Phil we needed a sign in our yard that said "Boo on you Obama." He then asked Phil who he was going to vote for. Phil said he still wasn't that sure, and Gavin said, "Just play e-knee, meanie, my-knee, moe, but make sure you start with Obama first, cause then you will vote for McCain!" What a little smarty! He is right, when it comes down to 2 people playing that game, whomever you start with first will lose! And people say public education doesn't teach kids anything! HA!!!!!

Testimony Time!

OK, So yesterday at fast and testimony meeting, it was pretty much all kids/youth. I was out nursing, but Phil said Jaycee kept asking to go up. Of course, Phil didn't take her, on the account that he was following Church rules that ask us to only let them go up if they can do it on their own. She was upset, but a second later was OK. Well, last night she didn't want to go to bed, and I was up reading a book. She was sitting on the couch pretending when I finally noticed what she was doing. I would hear her whisper something, and then out loud she would say "I love my Mom." Then a whisper, "I love my Dad." And so on. She was totally trying to bare her testimony and it was hilarious!!!! I kept pretending I was reading so she wouldn't stop, but man it was quite comical.

Cha-Ching!!!!

It FINALLY happened! We have been waiting for Gavin's first tooth to fall out and this morning was the BIG day. He had a molar pulled last spring, so I guess this isn't his 1st tooth, but... You get the picture. He loosened it up really well on Halloween playing bobbing for apples and it was basically hanging by a thread. This morning he came running into the kitchen, "Mom, guess what? My tooth just fell out! I was sitting there pushing it with my tongue and then it just fell out!" He didn't even bleed and he told me it didn't even hurt. He was so proud of himself. It can't believe how he is growing up. He'll be 7 in a few months! It is mind boggling! Now, the tooth fairy needs to come and may I just say the price she pays is OUTRAGEOUS compared to my whooping 25 cents I got when I was younger. I'm just starting with the loosing tooth thing, and I think the Tooth Fairy better take out a loan. With inflation, by the time Ky looses his teeth it will be $2.00 a tooth!!! Oh well, if Obama gets elected we're screwed anyway.....

Disneyland

So, Disneyland goes ALL out at Halloween time with the decorations and the whole shabang! It was lots of fun to go and see the characters dressed up in Halloween costumes and all the people that dressed up to. Bet ya can't guess the number 1 girls costume there? Anyway, the lines were short and the weather was great! In fact, it got into the 90s which was a little too hot, but we couldn't ask for anything better. The kids kept us running for 3 days straight and Phil and I were actually looking forward to a 12 hour drive, just so our feet could rest! Jaycee loved Big Thunder Mountain and keep asking to ride the choo-choo train over and over. She also loved Winnie-the-Pooh and the Teacups. Gavin, give that boy a big thrill ride and he is HAPPY! He loves Splash Mtn, Space Mtn, Matterhorn, Big Thunder, Mullholland, Grizzly Rapids, and California Screamin'. He rode Tower of Terror, but not his favorite. Disneyland redoes the Haunted Mansion in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and it is amazing how they can transform the entire ride. Kyson was a saint and we were truly blessed. He even liked riding Winnie-the-Pooh, Buzz Lightyear and Monsters Inc. Phil and I LOVE the new Toy Story ride. It is a lot of fun and we highly recommend it if your planning on going! I had never ridden anything in California Adventure, having been pregnant the last 2 times we've gone, but that Screamin' is one exhilarating ride and I LOVE IT!!! Jaycee and Gavin got to ride the carousel with Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Ariel. Jaycee was one cloud nine, and all Gavin told me was that Sleeping Beauty was hitting on him! Our trip was lots of fun and we're sad to be back home, but can't live in a fantasy world forever!

Southern California: Sea World

So this past week we pulled Gavin out of school for 2 days and headed for sunny California! We drove down and that was interesting, Kyson was by far the best traveler. We stopped in St. George at the temple and visited the visitor center. Then we headed for Sea World and then Disneyland for 3 days. It was so much fun! I love going with my kids and seeing their faces when they ride something for the first time, or Jaycee seeing on the princesses. They loved Sea World and thought the Orca's were awesome. Sea World has 7 orcas on site and the largest one weighs in at 9500 lb! The shows were great and Jaycee loved the beluga whales. My kids are huge Free Willy fans so Sea World was lots of fun. We were lucky enough to go with my sister Jenn and her family so that made it just that much more fun. The kids got to feed dolphins, pet rays, and see the clydesdales, all of them they loved and wanted to do it again. Of course, every trip has a funny right?, Well here is ours: My sister caught a trolley to Sea World from their motel, but the last one headed back before the Shamu Rocks show at 7:00, so we decided we would work something out to get them back to the motel and still see the show. The show is awesome. It has the ocra's perform to rock music and it is fabulous!!! Gavin sat in awe the whole time, but he LOVES the orca and told his dad he wanted to be a Marine Biologist when he grows up. I told him go for it, but he will have to move out of Utah to accomplish that goal. Anyway, after the show, Phil took, Morgan, Mallory, Kyson, Jaycee, and my brother-in-law back to the hotel while Jenn, Gavin, and I waited at the park. Their hotel was relatively close, so we waited and waited, and waited. Finally, Shane calls informs us they are lost. They finally found the hotel, but by the time they got back to pick us up, there was only 1 car in the entire parking lot and the night crew was asking us if we had a ride. It was funny and a great memory! On our way back to our hotel in Anaheim we swung by the San Diego Temple and took a couple of photos. The temple is beautiful and awesome as it rise out of the mountain as you make the bend in the freeway. All I can say is WOW!

Trick or Treat!

We had a great Halloween. The kids did Downtown Alliance, which is where the local downtown businesses pass out candy and you go from store to store. It was lots of fun and the kids get plenty of candy that we end up not doing any more trick or treating. After downtown alliance we went to my sister Alyson's house and had a cousin's halloween party. The kids bobbed for apples, had a scavenger hunt, played pin the nose on the pumpkin, spin the bottle and decorated cookies. The kids had a blast bobbing for apples and it even helped loosen Gavin's 1st loose tooth to the point it should be falling out soon! Gavin dressed up as Eragon, shadeslayer, Jaycee as Little Bo Peep, and Kyson was a pea in a pod. It was a fun night, but now that it is over, we have to deal with all the sugar high for the next 2 weeks until all the candy is gone!

Pumpkins

We have a great little pumpkin patch here in Tooele called Pankratz's Pumpkin Patch. It is always lots of fun to go and pick out our pumpkins, but this year was a little different. We grew 3 pumpkins in our "garden" in the backyard, but Jaycee got to go to the patch with her preschool and pick one out. So she picked out this gigantic pumpkin!!! I tried to get a smaller one, but she wouldn't have it. Then, we carved pumpkins. It was a nightmare, because my kids pick out complex patterns, and then mom or dad gets to carve it. They didn't want to gut them at first, finally Gavin wanted to scrap out the inside after all the guts were gone. We stayed up until 11:00 p.m. Thursday night carving!!! It was not fun last night when they were dead tired and we still hadn't done any trick or treating. Oh, the joys of the holidays!

Firehouse

Jaycee's preschool class went to the Stansbury Fire Station to learn about fire safety and all that good stuff. I had to take Gavin, Kyson, Jaycee, and Franklin, but it was lots of fun. Gavin liked being the oldest and knowing the answers to all the questions. Franklin was elated to wear the fire helmet. They got lots of free stuff and had a great time.
