She made it!

I'm a bit behind on the blog and trying to catch up. So I will give a brief of why I'm behind. Phil's younger sister, Amanda made it to Utah with her little boy, Mason, despite horrid weather conditions over the Sierra's. We are so glad she is here and living with us. Mason is a riot and full of energy and into everything. He is a lot of fun. We are still looking for a job for her, so if anyone has an idea, that would be fantastic. The lord hears and answers prayers because she is living proof! I will try to update everyday till I'm caught up!

I Married MY Edward!

First thing is first, Phil and I DO NOT celebrate Valentines Day. I have never been a big fan of it, plus I personally feel that once you are married your anniversary is your "new" Valentines day, but anyway... This past week at our house has been a living nightmare, at least at night time. It seems that the kids are fine during the day and then in the middle of the night all Heck breaks loose and we are up at wee hours with crying kids and medicating them all. So, in the last 4 nights Phil and I combined have gotten roughly 16 hours of sleep. Needless to say, we are functioning like zombies. Last night was no different. Everyone was in bed and asleep by 9:45 (that is a record for us), but 1:30 rolls around and Kyson is up hungry and crying. I fed him and laid him down, only to have him wake up 5 minutes later screaming. Around 3:00 Phil came out took him and rocked him back to sleep. Then at 4:30 Jaycee wakes up crying complaining her ear hurts. Her crying wakes Kyson back up and I spent the rest of the night in the recliner trying to soothe him back to sleep. I have just about had it and want to give some kids away. Then my valentines present came. My husband was so nice, he called his work and told him he would be late. He got our driveway shoveled and Gavin to school. Then he came home picked Jaycee, Kyson, and me up, dropped Jace off at school ran my errands with me so I didn't have to get Kyson out and then went to work. It was such a lifesaver and I couldn't ask for a better gift. It is silly how small simplistic acts of service and love are the ones most cherished. To my awesome hubby, THANK YOU a bazillion times over I LOVE YOU TO DEATH.

It's in the air, I can smell it...

Everyone always gets in a little funk about now with gloomy weather and the aching for spring, but NOT ME! This time of year only means 1 thing...Can you smell it? Most of you can't but it's there-TRACK SEASON has begun! I count down the days till track season and this year is no different. I have been blessed to become a certified track official and help out at indoor meets this year. I went to BYU a couple of weekends ago and got to see Brooke Jensen break Tiffany Lott's indoor hurdle record. That was huge the record has stood since 1994! Also, for all you non-track people (pretty much everyone who reads my blog) Tiffany is a former Olympian: Athens 2004. Then this past weekend I got to help at the UHSTCA meet at the Olympic Oval. It was great! I also got to see Apollo Anton Ohno practicing at the Oval while I was there. Don't hate me I didn't have my camera, but I was so excited to even SEE him. Anyway, outdoor season starts on Feb. 23 and I can't wait. It's in the air and I can smell it.....

The Open House

On Saturday, our family went to the Draper Temple open house. It was beautiful! (Like any temple isn't?) I was a dork and forgot my camera, so sorry! The kids did get a little anxious, but I think they thought it was cool. Kyson loved all the lights and Jaycee talked about the sparklies. Anyway, we took our neighbors that live behind us who are Lutheran. They asked us lots of questions and said it wasn't anything that they thought it to be. They thought it would be more open like a Catholic Cathedral. They said they were glad they went, and I'm glad they did to. At least now they can pass on the knowledge that there are NO beds in our temple. Thanks FLDS! But, I did want to let all of you know that although they suggest tickets, you DO NOT have to have them. They will not turn you away, except on Sundays or after 4:30 on Monday nights. I would highly recommend going. It is a great opportunity to teach your friends and children about the LDS faith. I can't say enough about it. I was so happy to be standing in the sealing room telling my kids to look into the mirrors. It also helped that I had my hubby standing right there next to me. I felt the peace promised to those of us who follow the commandments and serve God.
