Karma? I believe so....
If any of you know my hubby, you know that even though he works in the medical field, he and vomit DO NOT mix. They never have, and I highly doubt they ever will. I must say he has gotten better with our children and their spewing episodes, but it takes all he has to help them and if he doesn't HAVE to he disappears quickly. So call it Karma or whatever you like, but it never fails, once track season starts, Jaycee gets the stomach flu and it is ALWAYS on the night before and EARLY meet. I HATE IT. With this in mind, let me give you the low down on our spring break. Thursday before Easter, Phil is home from work holding Mason as I sneak out the door to practice, when all of a sudden, BLAAAAAP! Yep, Mason pukes ALL over Phil the rug and the floor. Phil is looking queasy as I quickly clean up the floor and Mason. He races to the room to get out of his clothes and requests a quick shower. I agree, even though I am officially late to practice. All seems well and I leave for practice. I return home to Phil flustered as Mason woke up from a nap a puked on him AGAIN. I chuckle, because it's Karma. Mason goes the rest of the day fine, but at 2:00 a.m. Jaycee wakes up and forgets to tell me she is going to throw up. As she vomits in my bed, I chuckle once again, God is a prankster. Once the sheets have been removed, new pjs, and a large towel placed in the bed, I drift off to sleep, only to have her continue to throw up through out the night every 20 minutes until 6 a.m. when my alarm goes off. Mind you this whole time, she has YET to make it to the toilet. I have changed the sheets three times, and soiled every towel in my house. Phil politely removed himself from our room and slept in Gavins room and Gavin was sleeping in Jaycee's bed. I go wake him up so he can get to work. He calls his work and tells them he won't be coming in so he can stay home with me and help with the kids. At 9 a.m. after we still can't hold anything down, we call the Dr. who advises us to come in and see him to check for dehydration. We get in to SLC without her vomiting once. She is bouncing off the wall at the Dr's office and I think to myself, a $35 co-pay wasted. Sure enough, she is fine and has a mild virus. On the way home, after 2 hours of no problems, she begins to vomit again. I have to bag going to my meet and begin the never ending LOADS of laundry. As the night progresses things look better. Then Gavin starts with some diarrhea, nothing major, but still.... On Saturday, I leave for the second day of the meet with Kyson. All is well with everyone, until that evening when Phil is holding Kyson and he proceeds to throw up all over Phil. This time, I laugh out loud and curse the heavens. Easter Sunday Phil wakes up with the stomach flu. His sister comes home from a weekend at Lori's sick, and we find out that our little bug has traveled to 4 other families!!! It was not good!!!!! So yes, if anyone asks Karma is real and God gives us Karma to remind us all that he has a sense of humor!!!!!
