Uh -Oh!

Ky loves this word its amazing how they use it correctly. Here is the latest and greatest in his use of this word.....



I must say that I moved pretty fast to get that cleaned up before the "animal vaccuum" came a runnin'.

Christmas

A little behind, but I needed to post. We had a great Christmas. Our two oldest are getting to the stage of open up every present as fast as you possible can, get it out, play a whole 3 seconds with in and move on. Needless to say, we got through Christmas REALLY fast. I felt blessed that our kids went to bed at 9:45 and didn't wake up until 8:15! I know it is so crazy. Phil was dying. He was awake at 5 wondering when they were going to wake up. He loves Christmas. All the grandparents made their traditional stop by the house to see what we got. In the evening we got together with my family and exchanged gifts. It was lots of fun and I feel truly blessed that we live so close to all of my family. I'm SPOILED! Here are a few pics of our Christmas!

Gavin got lots of Legos, movies, a couple DS games, a bakugan trap and clothes.


Jaycee got a pink DS, DS games, barbies, Polly Chop-Chops (LPS), dress ups and movies


Ky got a FP Chair, some big trucks, little people bus, jammies, and clothes.


Phil got a new shower head and Santa was extra nice and got him a Laptop! (What a nice Santa.)


My pride and joy this year for Christmas came from my Mom and Dad. It is a blanket made from some of the t-shirts I have acquired over the years coaching. I LOVE IT! My mom is the best!


We had a great Christmas and hoped everyone else did too!

Frostbite

Yes, Frostbite. I was diagnosed with this lovely injury last Friday. We really don't know how it all came to be, but on Dec. 22 I shoveled my driveway, in winter boots, came inside took off my boots and 1 hour later, I was dying. My foot was white and it was cold. It hurt really bad that day and I called my sis to ask if the Dr. might know what it was. Without seeing me they thought I might have popped a blood vessel because of the discoloration. I put a rice pack on them, warmed them up and went on with life. Unfortunately, last Friday the pain was back, I couldn't walk. My crocs were the only shoe I could put on my foot without sending me over the edge. I broke down and went to the Doc. Frostbite. I can't believe it. I must not have gotten my fill on Trek for the pioneer experience, so I'm going "all out." I don't know how they continued walking. My foot hurt so bad I was literally in tears. The cure: keep your feet dry and warm AND, get rid of your NIKE shoes. They don't help with breath-ability. Best yet, to make me feel so much better he told me that they have a saying in Podiatry school, "January's frostbite equals July's amputations." Lets just hope THAT doesn't have to happen.

Sledding

On Christmas Eve, we took the kids sledding. It was a lot of fun and there was even a little jump that the kids could go off of. We gave the two older kids new sleds and Ky used an old sled. Ky hasn't ever been sledding, so it was fun to watch his face. I know he always has a smile on his face, but he grinned from ear to ear the entire time and was so excited to do it again and again. He even climbed the hill by himself almost every time. He would sit on the sled and wait for someone to give him a push. Then he would clap and "yeah" the whole way down. He and Jaycee are two peas in a pod and spend a lot of time eating the snow while waiting for their turn. (No, none were yellow) It was a great way to spend the day with the kids.

A couple of our friends, The Birds and The Regers, and ourselves decided on a group date to Desert Star Playhouse. We went and saw the play "The Nutcracker, Men in Tights." It was so much fun. If you have never been to Desert Star, you NEED to go. They put on a great show and you laugh your head off the entire time. We decided that we needed to spice things up a bit, so we all decided on finding ugly Christmas sweater and going in them. Well, here you go....

Someone actually gave Ellie the sweater she is wearing as a gift. She doesn't like it too much!

We have bigger and better plans for next year that includes accessories. It is going to be our new tradition. Even Desert Star is going to dedicate one night next Christmas to "Ugly Sweater Night." That should be interesting. And just FYI, out of all of us, Phil, yet again, won. HANDS DOWN!
Another note of interest.... ALL, but Ellie's, sweater were found in the women's section of our local DI!

Just in Time for the Holidays!

I'm sitting here watching the snowfall, not wanted to go shovel, and realizing, I'm glad it is snowing. I love fresh snow for Christmas. That is what makes Christmas complete. I'm sorry for any of you who hate the snow or don't get it, because I think it is beautiful. I am going to catch up on some of the stuff we have been doing in the past few months, and I am even going to post some pics. Amazing!

Swimming Lessons
My kids love the water. Gavin has excelled at swimming, I think we might have a future Michael Phelps (without the pot). He was in level 2 to start, but did so well, they moved him to level 3 and he passed with no problems. He even got to jump off the diving board by himself!



Jaycee loves the water, too. She was in the Pre-school class and did well. She was more concerned about her male teacher who wasn't wearing a shirt and kept telling me he was naked! She had fun with her cousins, but we all know that Crack Kills!



Ky didn't do swim lessons, but he had fun playing after lessons.

On to Halloween. We carved pumpkins, dressed up as pirates, and ate lots of candy...

Thanksgiving came and went...Phil's sister Amanda got remarried. Great day for her and her little boy. But,no pics there. I forgot the camera!

December: Phil and I went to S. California with some of my XC team who raced at footlocker regionals at MT. SAC. The race was good, but the best part was the my entire team that I took ALL had temple recommends and we went to the Newport Beach Temple to baptisms. It was Awesome! I'm so lucky to coach such a great group of kids. And if you didn't know, this temple is light pink in color. It is beautiful.


We also went to Disneyland. This is Colter, one of my runners, Lisa Johnson, my asst. Coach, and Phil. We went to splash mountain and got soaked, at least I did, and froze my butt off. But hey, we were in d-land and it IS the Happiest Place on Earth!

Lastly, Phil's work in SLC had an ugly sweater contest for the holidays and here is Phil's sweater and Christmas turtleneck!

We combed his hair over in a "pretty school boy" look and he looked so gay. But hey, He WON! We got a gift card to Target! Not too bad for a DI special.


It has been and eventful few months, but lots of fun! Hope everyone has a great Holiday!
